Building and maintaining roads and infrastructure is significant work. Contributing to societal development is even greater. With us, you get to do both. We are now looking for professional employees within operations, roads, and civil engineering for our assignments in Eskilstuna and the surrounding area. At Svevia, we combine the camaraderie and team spirit of a small company with the stability of a large corporation. Here, you have the opportunity to develop as a road specialist – with engagement, collaboration, and responsibility.
Your role as a Road and Civil Engineering Worker
In this role, you work close to production and contribute to ensuring that our operation and maintenance assignments function smoothly in everyday life – year-round.
The work covers operation and maintenance assignments within road infrastructure and associated ancillary facilities, as well as common ground and civil engineering works.
This is a practical and varied job performed outdoors year-round, including among other things:
- Operational and maintenance measures in road environments and surrounding ancillary facilities
- Ground and civil engineering works on a small to medium scale
- Signage as well as placement, assembly, and adjustment of traffic devices
- Continuous road inspections with corresponding measures based on identified deficiencies
- Minor paving works, mowing, brush clearing, and winter road maintenance in the form of snow removal and anti-icing
You work both independently and together with colleagues, where collaboration and taking responsibility are crucial for success.
Standby duty is a natural part of the assignment, especially during the winter period. This means you need to be ready to step in when conditions change and contribute to keeping the roads safe and passable around the clock.
The position is full-time, and you will be based in Eskilstuna, with assignments geographically carried out in Eskilstuna and the surrounding area. Working hours are primarily Monday–Friday, 07:00–16:00, but the work is production-driven and involves working at inconvenient times as well as on standby. At Svevia, we apply individual salary setting.
Who are you?
We place great emphasis on your personal qualities and attitude.
To thrive in this role, we believe you:
- Are responsible and can work independently
- Have a practical aptitude and enjoy working outdoors in varying environments
- Are flexible and solution-oriented
- Contribute to a good team spirit and prioritize safety
You are someone who sees what needs to be done and takes initiative to drive the work forward – even when the pace is high or conditions change.
Requirements:
- Category B driver's license
- Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
- Experience working digitally and with digital tools
Merits:
- Category BE or C driver's license
- Experience in operation and maintenance work or civil engineering
- APV (Advanced Professional Vehicle) or similar training
- Experience with standby/emergency work
We are convinced that the right attitude, engagement, and desire to develop are at least as important as previous experience.
Part of something bigger
Svevia is today Sweden's largest operation contractor. Within operations and maintenance, we handle, among other things, the summer and winter road maintenance for half of the state's road network. Many municipalities, private companies, and road associations hire us to take care of their roads and outdoor environments.
With us, you contribute to a larger whole. We plow for the family heading to the mountains. We ensure that business freight transport reaches its destination and ensure that streets, squares, and parks are clean and tidy. Furthermore, we save lives on the road through our offerings in traffic devices.
Why Svevia?
With us, you quickly become part of the team. We work closely together, decision-making paths are short, and it is easy to influence your daily life.
You become part of a business where the work is concrete and visible – where results are created out in production every day. At the same time, you have the security of a large company and the opportunity to develop within both your profession and the organization.
I, your manager, Magnus Andersson, am driven by building strong teams and a sustainable organization. I believe in close leadership where we take responsibility together and have high engagement in what we do.
For you who want to develop, there are good opportunities – both to deepen your professional knowledge or take the next step, for example towards a supervisory role.
Together, we make the city and the countryside function. Do you want to share the road with us?
Application and information
You apply easily by sending in your CV and answering a few selection questions. Our recruitment process is based on a competency-based approach, which is a prerequisite for recruiting in a quality-assured, inclusive, and unbiased manner. Therefore, we do not want a cover letter.
Selection takes place continuously, and the position may be filled before the application period ends. Therefore, please submit your application as soon as possible, no later than June 18.
